On December 12, 2025, the expert review meeting for "Fertilizer Additives - Classification and Coding", organized by the China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association and led by Forbon Technology as the initiating and leading unit, was held both online and on-site. Fertilizer additives are various single or composite functional additives used in the production, storage, transportation, and application of fertilizers to enhance or improve the functions and applications of fertilizers, and to increase the efficiency of fertilizer production and use. There is a wide range of fertilizer additives, with new products and concepts emerging endlessly. However, there is no unified understanding of their names and classification at home and abroad, and there are no standard specifications for classification, naming, and coding, which affects the application and management of additives. The "Classification and Coding of Fertilizer Additives" group standard is a pioneering basic work in the fertilizer additive industry, with far-reaching significance. This standard regulates the management of the fertilizer additive industry in accordance with the principles of scientificity, systematicness, normalization, compatibility, scalability, and usability. It aims to clarify the major categories and subdivisions of fertilizer additives, identify their main functional units, establish group standards and industry standards for related products or product systems to address any omissions, and avoid misleading promotion of related products.

The participating review experts reviewed relevant documents, expressed their opinions, and listened to the on-site explanations provided by the writing team. After lively discussions among the experts, chief editors, and representatives of participating enterprises, it was concluded that the classification system of "Fertilizer Additives - Classification and Coding" is scientific, reasonable, universally applicable, and scalable. The architecture is logically clear, well-structured, comprehensive, and organically related, providing a relatively comprehensive view of fertilizer additives. The coding and grading are unified with clear boundaries, easy for both human and machine recognition, and leave room for future expansion. The standard writing is well-regulated, meets the writing requirements, and has passed the technical review.
